Turtle Satelite Transmitter Story

Underwater World Singapore released 13 turtles in Big Sisters Island.
The release involved thirteen hawskbill sea turtles that were born at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium in Japan.
They were brought all the way to Singapore because their parents originally came from the Underwater World Singapore in 1997 and 2002.
Eight of the turtles to be released were outfitted with satellite transmitters, believed to be the first captive bred turtles to be tagged.

Dr. C.H.Diong, supervised us in Turtle Conservation in Bintan, was asked for help. Two of these turtles were entered Indonesia area. One was end up at Sekupang, Batam (ID 50145) and the other one was at Rempang Island (ID 50143).
My husband, Luckfi and the trustful taxi driver, Mamang were searching these transmitters for 2 days. Luckily, they could find them in 2 days.
The one in Batam found by private company employee. The transmitter was detached from the turtle. He was curious to know what kind of box it was, therefore; he broke the transmitter.
The other one in Rempang Island was entered the fisherman Kelong and died. The fisherman took back the transmitter with him.
Congratulation folks! Good job! An amazing results...
Thank you for helping 3 organizations: NOAA (USA), Nagoya Port Aquarium and Underwater World Singapore.
